Cooperrider wins Florida State Championship

Sarasota, FL — While HEAD Penn’s Paola Longoria is dominating the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT), there is a junior sensation in Florida that may soon give racquetball’s La Princesa a game or two. A decade ago Jordan Cooperrider picked up a racquet and was immediately a huge success. At the age of five she won her first tournament and since then has filled a trophy case with junior titles. Last weekend at the 2013 Florida State Racquetball Championships she added another title to her collection, Women’s Open State Champion, by beating some of the top adult players in the Sunshine State using the HEAD Scorpion 170 racquet.

At the age of fourteen, Jordan became one of the youngest Open State Racquetball Champions, not only in the state of Florida but in the entire country. At the tournament, she was also honored as being Florida’s “Most Improved Female Player of the Year”. When Jordan was only 5 years old, she won a Southeast Junior Regional title in the 6 & Under Multibounce Division. Since then she has captured an additional 12 Regional Championships, 7 State Championships, 6 National Junior Championships and 2 World Junior Championships!

Away from the racquetball courts, Jordan enjoys playing soccer and is currently in 8th Grade at Palm Harbor Middle School. She plans on playing in the 2013 USA Racquetball Junior Racquetball Championships this summer in Iowa. Her goal while there is to bring home a National Championship in both singles and doubles.
