Hollywood Ending for Robredo at the Movistar

GREENVILLE, SC — Down a break in the third set, Dunlop Tour Team player Tommy Robredo summoned his experience and fortitude to score a dramatic 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (5) win yesterday in the Movistar Open in Santiago, Chile. The Spaniard overcame Colombian Santiago Giraldo en route to his 10th ATP World Tour title, and the first for a player wielding a Dunlop Biomimetic frame.

Robredo , who uses the Biomimetic 600, raced out to a commanding lead in the first set, and was also up a break in the second before Giraldo fought back. Robredo found himself down 5-3 in the third, before rallying for a third set tiebreak win. “I feel I started the year well. I am feeling great. It gives me a lot of hope to continue this way,” he said. “I think I can have the best or one of the best years in my career in 2011.”
