HEAD Launches YOUTEK
PHOENIX, AZ — Never before has HEAD created a racquet technology that can actually adapt to each shot you hit. HEAD YOUTEK™ combines superior technologies to give you the individual benefits you need to match your playing style. Not only does YOUTEK™ meet your individual needs but it enhances your performance on the court and brings out the best in “you”.
In HEAD’s tour racquets, YOUTEK™ features d3o™ and HEAD Grommets with Teflon® friction reducing polymer which will be featured in the new HEAD Speed Series.
d3o™ is a “smart material” which dramatically changes its behavior under dynamic loading or impact. Located in the shaft of the racquet, d3o™ reacts to the needs of a player in nano seconds, providing a softer touch and better feel on slow speed impacts, like slices and drop shots, and increases stiffness necessary to create power on high speed impacts, such as a serves and passing shots.
YOUTEK™ also features HEAD Grommets with Teflon® friction reducing polymer, which allow minimal string friction for much less energy loss and much more power.
With HEAD Teflon® friction reducing polymer, the strings can slide through the grommets with nearly no friction, offering the player more power. “If your game is aggressive and adventurous or consistent and smooth, YOUTEK™ will adapt to your game,” said Kevin Kempin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for HEAD Penn Racquet Sports. “With YOUTEK™, HEAD is taking racquet technology to a new level.”
YOUTEK™ will be available in the following Tour Series racquets from HEAD:
Speed Pro: The weapon of choice for HEAD player Novak Djokovic is a heavier racquet with a very thin beam for exceptional touch and feel during play.
Speed MP 16/19 & 18/20: The new design is for heavy hitters with a long fast swing style and is available in two different string styles to accommodate a wide range of players.
Speed Elite: Designed with a slightly wider beam for more power, the Speed Elite is a Tour light version providing complete tour performance with greater maneuverability.
Speed Lite: The lightest racquet in the series, it provides a perfect combination of power, maneuverability, control and feel for players with a moderate swing style.
Speed Jr.: For the younger players looking to improve their game, the racquet comes with full YOUTEK™ features including d3o™.
