Prince Named Official Apparel and Footwear for the Prestigious Sony Ericsson Championships
Bordentown, NJ - November 3, 2008 - This week in Doha, Qatar, the top eight singles players and top four doubles teams will compete in the season-ending Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Championships for the largest purse in women’s tennis. One of the most prestigious events in the sport, Prince is proud to have been named the official apparel and footwear partner of the tournament.
The six day, round robin competition will be televised on major broadcast networks around the world and will showcase, along with the best players on the planet, the latest Prince performance footwear and apparel - to be worn by every Championship official, line judge, chair umpire and ball person.

As the world’s best battle it out for $4.5 million in prize money, fans and viewers will see all tournament officials and crew members sporting pieces from the Gold and Black collections in the company’s Aerotech apparel line as well as footwear from the company’s popular M Series line. In addition to tournament staff and crew sporting Prince gear, one of the players in the draw, Ai Sugiyama, will be head to toe in Prince products - from footwear to racquet to wristbands. Overall, nearly one-third of all the players who qualified for the year-end Championships play with Prince racquets - Jelena Jankovic, Vera Zvonareva, Liezel Huber, Katarina Srebotnik and Ai Sugiyama.
