Babolat Welcomes Two New Additions to Sports Marketing Family
Boulder, Colorado - October 7, 2008 - Babolat, a leading manufacturer of tennis products, announces the promotion of Seth McKinley to Babolat Sports Marketing Manager for the Americas and Australia and the addition of Jackie Carleton and Steve Strecker to the Babolat USA sports marketing team.
Seth McKinley, formerly in charge of Babolat promotions for professional and Junior players in the US, has been promoted to Babolat Sports Marketing Manager for the Americas and Australia. McKinley has been with Babolat since 2005 and is a well-known figure on the junior and pro circuits. In addition to his new international player responsibilities, McKinley will continue to work closely with the Promotions team in the US.
Jackie Carleton joins Babolat USA as Promotions Manager for the US. Carleton comes to Babolat from Adidas where she was a Junior Team representative for its tennis division. At Babolat, she will head up the Junior and College player programs handling recruitment, sponsorships, contracts, and the all-important player relations at the junior and collegiate levels.
Carleton hails from the Philadelphia, PA area and is a former US No. 1 Junior player. Her collegiate career includes two years at UCLA (No. 1 and 2 single and doubles) where she led her team to the NCAA finals her sophomore year, and two years at Duke (No. 1 and 2 single and doubles) as a two-time All-American in singles.
“What I love about Babolat is that this is a company whose primary focus is tennis,” says Carleton. “From the top down, they are passionate about tennis and dedicated to the sport. It really shows in the kind of quality players that are attracted to this brand. I’m thrilled to be a part of a well-respected team and look forward to building on the great foundation that is already in place.”
Steve Strecker has been named the new Babolat USA Marketing/Promotions Coordinator and will be transitioning from his current position as a Babolat USA Inside Sales Representative in the coming months. Strecker will facilitate promotions activities, brand initiatives and marketing programs in the US. He has a strong background in marketing and promotions and as a student at the University of Colorado helped shape and run the club tennis team, a student-run intercollegiate program for college tennis.
McKinley commented, “Jackie and Steve will make great additions to our team. Not only do they have the experience we were looking for, but they also have the integrity, attitude and passion necessary for making our sports marketing department successful.”
