New James Blake Website Launches

ATLANTA, GA, June 20, 2008 -– Although tennis fans have to wait until next week to see U.S. tennis player James Blake toss up the first ball at the Championships, Wimbledon, they can head straight over to JamesBlakeTennis.com now to see his newly launched website. It includes added content and improved ways for fans to interact with the tennis star, and represents a complete overhaul of the original website, launched six years ago.

In addition to the latest news and pictures, the website focuses on Blake’s charitable endeavors: a new cancer research fund in his father’s memory and the J-Block, the name given to his fanbase, which has raised over $100,000 since its inception in 2005. Starting this summer, fans interested in purchasing J-Block merchandise (for which 100% of the proceeds go to charity) can use the TennisWarehouse.com storefront on the website.

“This year I’d like to make it easier for fans to help me in the fight against cancer,” said Blake, currently the 8th ranked player in the world. “It’s my hope to raise a million dollars for the Thomas Blake Sr. Memorial Cancer Research Fund. The J-Block and new website will help us to achieve that goal.”

Blake’s new association with the sports blogging website Yardbarker.com will enable fans to feel closer to the 28 year old American. James will routinely blog on the Yardbarker site, and fans can post replies to his missives. His blogging will complement his individual responses to fans’ questions.

James’ new endorsement deal with Heineken is also highlighted on the website. The beverage titan joins Nike, Evian, American Express, Dunlop Tennis, and Tournagrip as sponsorship partners.
