Three New Dunlop Aerogel Racquets Hit the Market
GREENVILLE, SC — Dunlop continues to build its arsenal of Aerogel racquets this week with the arrival of the 6Hundred, 8Hundred and 1Thousand frames. The technologies in this trio of Aerogel racquets are all suited to help players maximize the power of their groundstrokes, while still maintaining comfort and touch at net.
Leading Dunlop’s technology charge is Aerogel, the world’s lightest solid. Despite being made up of 99% air, a block of Aerogel the size of a human body can support the weight of a midsize car. Because Aerogel is used throughout each frame, players will feel the added power and strength of the racquets from the head (minimal torsion) to the handle (increased stability).
All three of the new racquets also possess Dunlop’s patented Aerobridge technology, a new dampening system that cancels string vibration by using an injection molded polymer sleeve that encloses the throat of the racquet. The result is unsurpassed feel.
Unique to the Aerogel 8Hundred is Vibrocore, an additional layer of protection against frame vibration and shock, helping those players that may have experienced arm trouble or want to reduce the risk of tennis elbow. The Vibrocore system is made up of a thermal-plastic resin with a silicone core inserted into the throat of the racquet. The resulting effect is a significant reduction in frame vibration at the time of impact with the ball. The combined effect in the 8Hundred of Aerogel, Aerobridge and Vibrocore creates the ultimate game improver racquet.
“With the arrival of these three racquets, the continued stellar play of our Tour Team and recent upgrades made to service our customers, we are positioned well for a successful 2008,” said Kai Nitsche, Dunlop’s General Manager of Racquet Sports. “Dunlop has always been at the forefront of technological innovation in the racquet sports industry and these new racquets are no different. Game improvers across America will appreciate the benefits these racquets deliver to their games.”
