Dunlop's Million Dollar Madness Starts in March
GREENVILLE, SC — When the next Grand Slam winner is crowned, the person with the biggest smile might be the guy playing with a Dunlop Aerogel racquet at the local park. Beginning today, tennis players like him will have a million reasons to root for the likes of James Blake, Tommy Haas, and Tomas Berdych at the final three Grand Slam events this year, thanks to Dunlop.
Dunlop’s Million Dollar Slam promises to add a new level of excitement to Grand Slam tournaments and even more reason to play Dunlop. Tennis players who demo a Dunlop Aerogel racquet at participating pro shops, tennis retailers or at events throughout North America will receive a contest Game Card with a unique PIN code. Participants may enter the sweepstakes contest online at Dunlopsweepstakes.com. Upon entering the PIN Code participants are assigned a Dunlop Tour Team player (see list below), and if that player is named the Dunlop Spotlight player and wins one of the final three Grand Slams in 2008, they will win up to $1 million.
But the $1M Grand Prize isn’t all that’s being dangled in front of players and fans. An all expenses paid trip for two to the prestigiousSaddlebrook Tennis Resort in Tampa to meet James Blake, along with Dunlop Gear packages can be won as well. Complete rules and details of the contest can be found at Dunlop’s Million Dollar Slam website: Dunlopsweepstakes.com
“This promotion will continue to build players’ and fans’ excitement about Dunlop Aerogel racquets and the Dunlop Tour Team,” said Steve Hall, Director of Marketing for Dunlop Racquet Sports. “Along with reaping the on court benefits of the Dunlop Aerogel line of racquets, fans have a million new reasons to demo a Dunlop Aerogel racquet and follow the Dunlop Tour Team for the rest of the 2008 Grand Slam season and beyond.”
Interactive promotion company iC Group handled the promotion for Dunlop, including the online sweeps development and insurance for the million dollar prize. Executive Vice President Duncan McCready says Dunlop’s blended retail and online strategy should be a winner. “The promo just doesn’t end with product trial. It extends brand interaction from the store to online, and throughout the entire tennis season. It connects fans to their Tour Team. And, it’s exciting. Who doesn’t want the chance to get in on a million bucks?” says McCready.
