Play Tennis Florida Chosen as Official 2008 USTA Florida Magazine
JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Nov. 5, 2007) -– Following a bidding process involving four regional/national tennis magazines, Play Tennis Florida has been named the official USTA Florida magazine for 2008.
Play Tennis Florida is a brand-new magazine from Richard Vach, former publications editor for the ATP, the governing body of men’s professional tennis, and publisher of the Northeast Florida regional JAX Tennis magazine.
“Play Tennis Florida will continue our history of being a magazine that covers tennis in Florida with more emphasis on grassroots and community articles,” said USTA Florida Executive Director Doug Booth. “We look forward to working in partnership with Play Tennis Florida to offer USTA Florida members the best of what tennis has to offer monthly in our great state.”
Past USTA national presidents have referred to Florida as “America’s most important tennis state.” Play Tennis Florida is mailed exclusively to USTA Florida’s approximately 50,000 individual, school, and organizational members each month. Play Tennis Florida’s provides advertisers an exclusive demographic, with approximately 60% of households with an annual income of over $100,000, and more than 50% in the 35-50 age range belonging to exclusive private clubs, according to USTA and Tennis industry Association data.
“Play Tennis Florida will debut in January 2008 with a fresh graphic presentation, award-winning writers and photographers, and deeper reporting of community, recreational, and grassroots tennis throughout the state,” says Play Tennis Florida Editor & Publisher Richard Vach. “Tennis remains the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. over the last five years, and Florida is leading the way. We’re looking forward to an exciting 2008.”
Play Tennis Florida will be published 11 times in 2008, with one combined issue in Dec./Jan.
