DEUCE Magazine Launches First Online Issue
Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, U.S.A. –- DEUCE Magazine, the ATP’s Official Publication, has unveiled its first online issue, featuring exclusive stories with US Open champion Roger Federer and finalist Novak Djokovic. Launched as an annual magazine in 2002, DEUCE will now appear as an all-digital publication on a quarterly basis, showcasing the lifestyles and personalities of ATP players and promoting ATP tournaments.
In the first online issue DEUCE sits down with World No. 3 Novak Djokovic, who is making headlines around the world with his engaging personality and enormous talent. Whether he’s impersonating Andy Roddick or Jessica Simpson, walking down a catwalk in various states of undress or beating Rafael Nadal and Federer in back-to-back matches, the 20-year-old commands center stage - and the full attention of the tennis world.
Roger Federer, who on Sunday won a fourth consecutive US Open, talks about a locker room tennis ball fight, skipping a party with Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller and why he still has to show his tournament credential.
“For five years DEUCE Magazine has delivered exceptional editorial and design, but distribution had been limited to just a handful of markets,” said Paul Macpherson, Managing Editor, ATPtennis.com. “By transitioning DEUCE to the web, through ATPtennis.com, millions of tennis fans worldwide now have the opportunity to connect with the personalities and lifestyles of the game’s greatest athletes.”
Also in the first online issue, Fernando Gonzalez shares his heroic rescue of a dog from a busy Santiago highway, and details how he recovered from a bite to his playing hand. Dmitry Tursunov, already an all-star blogger, reveals that he has a passion for mixing music. Juan Carlos Ferrero recounts his € 7 million boutique hotel investment and Ivo Karlovic, the ATP’s tallest player, looks at the good and the bad of being 6’ 10’’.
There is a focus on the tight battle for the Race to Shanghai, with just 70 points separating the No. 7 player in the Race from the No. 20. DEUCE also features a look at a day in the life of Countrywide Classic Tournament Director Bob Kramer, who gives readers an inside look at what it’s like to run the ATP event in Los Angeles.
