Beijing Olympic Tennis to be Played on DecoTurf
Andover, MA, September 4, 2007 — DecoTurf, the most recognized tennis court surface in the world, announced that their full cushioned tennis surface DecoTurf II, has been selected for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), and the International Tennis Federation (ITF) ratified the choice of DecoTurf II as the tennis court surface. Tennis practice sessions and match play will take place on seventeen courts at the Beijing Olympic Tennis Centre from August 10 through August 17, 2008. A total of one hundred and seventy two men and women will compete for medals in four events: Men’s’ singles, Women’s singles, Women’s Doubles and Men’s Doubles.
