Head Picks Most Radical Fan
PHOENIX, Ariz. (Aug. 28, 2007) – After a summer of watching fans’ most “radical” videos, HEAD today announced the winner of its “Are You Radical Enough?” promotion. The winner will spend an afternoon on the court with Andre Agassi.
For nearly six weeks this summer, fans submitted one to two minute videos showing off their radical tennis game or their loyalty as a fan to the sport and the most radical player of them all, Agassi.
The lucky winner is John Du of Canada, who produced a rap video devoted to the game of tennis called “Our Game is Radical.” Du, who described himself in his entry as a “wannabe rapper who is seriously in love with the game of tennis” will face Agassi on the tennis court in Las Vegas in November.
“I have been a fan of Andre Agassi and HEAD for years. Combining my on-court skills with rapping knowledge, I was able to create a video I am very proud of,” said Du. “I look forward to spending time with Agassi and learning from a real radical pro.”
In addition to a day on the court with Agassi, Du will receive round-trip airfare for two and a two night stay in Las Vegas.
The second place winner, John Matthieu Cloitre of France will receive a new HEAD MicroGel radical racquet signed by Agassi. Cloitre’s entry “A Radical Serve” chronicled his journey through Europe searching for his tennis ball after a particularly powerful serve on the court.
Four runners up, Nicholas Pison and Bodie Quirk from U.S.A.; Paul Tiberiu of Romania; and David Jobert of France; will receive a Radical Supercombi bag from HEAD. Videos of the top 5 winners can be viewed here.
HEAD’s “Are You Radical Enough?” promotion coincides with the company’s launch of the new MicroGel Radical line, featuring three racquets, the MicroGel Radical OS, the MicroGel Radical MP and the MicroGel Radical Pro. The new technology maximizes the responsive qualities of the racquet to create a rock solid feel and explosive spin, catering to today’s modern tennis player.
