Color your world

With spring in the air, I like to take advantage of the colored string offered by some manufacturers, starting with pink, orange, red, blue, optic yellow, and lime. It really gets people to notice what equipment I’m using. After I install one of these colored strings, my students often ask if my teaching or demo racquets are new. These strings are giving my inventory a visibility it didn’t have before.

The color also helps sell the strings, too. I have juniors who ask their parents to have their racquets restrung — something that doesn’t happen very often otherwise.

Once I get them talking about new strings, I have an opportunity to educate them about the importance of string selection, restringing intervals, and my Master Racquet Technician certification from USRSA.

Because of my success, one of my sales reps is supplying some colored string free of charge, and he has requested that I string his demos with it.
