Changing the flex

Q: You have all these on-line tools and all this information about how to change the weight, balance, and swingweight of a racquet, but nothing about how to change the flex. What can I do to change the flex of my racquet?

A: There is no non-destructive way to change the flex of a racquet, aside from the small increase in flexibility that comes from stringing. That is, an unstrung racquet is stiffer than a strung racquet because the pull of the main strings augments any bending force applied to the racquet — either through flex testing or through impact with the ball.
