Getting more mileage from hybrids
Whenever you string a hybrid for your own racquet, use different string colors for the mains and crosses. I’ve used red and orange, orange and white, and blue and white in my racquets, and other players will almost always ask about why my strings are different colors. This gives me the opening to explain the advantages of hybrid stringing. I would estimate that nearly half of all my stringing is hybrid stringing now. I think every single person who has asked me about my strings has said, “I think I may give that a try next string job.” This technique gets people thinking about their strings, and gives me a chance to demonstrate my knowledge and expertise. It’s also a great way to get new customers. Just make certain you know the reasons why you would use a hybrid, and the different options there are.
