Partial string jobs

Q: I need some sort of official ruling as to whether or not leaving a string job half done is acceptable practice. It has been demonstrated to me many times that it is not, however, I need some sort of reference to the USRSA’s guidelines stating such. If there is any help that you can offer me, I would be eternally grateful.

A: According to Racquet Service Techniques, chapter 2, page 35:

“IMPORTANT: Never leave a racquet partially strung. Leaving a racquet with only the mains installed for even a short time will likely result in frame breakage. Finish stringing the crosses or remove the mains to avoid damage.”
