Slick Grommet Installation

Over the years I have tried heating grommet strips with a heat gun and prying them into place with awl, but the way I currently install them works quicker and easier for me. I spray the grommet strip with a light coating of silicone lubricant and it slides into the racquet. Silicone lubricant is especially nice to use in this application because it seems to dissipate on its own, so a quick wipe with a cloth is all that’s needed for clean-up. Any residue that is left behind is completely benign and, if it’s inside the grommets, actually makes stringing easier.
