Ektelon Clamp Length

Q: I have a 25-year-old Ektelon H stringing machine. When stringing widebody racquets, the clamps are so short that the only way to get them to reach the stringbed is to push down on the string before clamping. Does anyone sell a longer replacement clamp?

A: It sounds as though you have one of the first Model H Ektelons. We are not aware of anyone offering longer replacement clamps, but the original clamps should reach, although you might have to adjust the glide bar to the topmost of its three positions.
