Worm Weaving

When I know I will be installing a “worm-type” dampener after restringing, I wait until just after I have tensioned my next-to-the-last cross. I then install the “worm” by weaving in the same under/over pattern. I then weave and tension my last cross above the “worm” and tie off.

Alpha 5-string pack to:

Glenn Brewer, Marietta, GA

Editor’s note: This makes it easier to install the dampener, but more difficult to install the last cross, and you have to remember to weave that last cross above the dampener, or else you’ll have to remove the dampener and reinstall it below the bottom cross.
