Alternating Mains

When starting the mains, I do three on one side and then three on the other to balance the stress on the frame. To make it faster to find the end of the side on which I start, after clamping off the third main on the starting side, I loosely install the fourth main, leaving the end of the string hanging out of the frame by about a foot. That way, when I come back to that side, the end of the string is easy to pick up.
